July mid month 2007
sitting in the hot swells of humidity in a random apartment, i have been told it is one in ten thousand. Although looking at the matrix type structures of the residential blocks on the island i can only imagine a greater number. The latin inspired, cuban instrumental, parisian ex-pat living in tokyo mix slurs on in the background. The small laptop speakers are drowned out by the small air-con unit trying trying trying to extract moisture and cool the living room. Previous legacies of companionship are still with me, lodged in my chest. But the more i explore the sprawl the more i am imbued with a sense of hope.boards of canada pipe in through black silicon buds, the sun hitting my face, glinting of my screen, before brushing the hair away from my tired eyes. I close my weary receptors enjoy the pre conditioned air and think of the adventure that awaits.
squeezed fruit will quench my thirst, cool showers and citrus cleansers will fix my skin. lets hope that other european narcotic Christianity hasn’t simply thrown his things into my room. i might just leave the door open and pee standing up in protest. -

Absent Days homage to days *not* using my flickr account

Blog
It has been quite a while since i have used my flickr account for anything. With the annual automatic deduction for my credit card ensuring my archived photos will stay intact metaphorically my account has been collecting dust. Each time i opened my photo stream images from my past seemed to haunt me in a similar way a blank sheet of paper can paralyse the most gifted writer or cafe artist. I felt the need to banish these images in the depth of “previous pages” and in a way start a new. With this opacity shift from 100% to 0% each image represents one 24hour chunk that i didn’t upload anything to flickr. didn’t share the images i have captured, created, sketched or stolen. Please check back as i have pledged to make more of an effort to revitalize this dusty web space.
cheers

A response to a far better writer’s reflections.

Linking from friend Smallcaps’ more up-kept blog I was reading an empathetic post by talented journalist Lam Vo
“It saddens me that I have no juice left to record my own impressions of this planet anymore.
And so I press down a button and hope that it’ll record something for a silent, silenced little me.”
Above is the only response i felt appropriate. A quick sketch on my desktop inspired by the an exquisite picture of birds in flight. - 10.25.07 hates this blog, but wants to draw posted in scrap paper sketching
