July mid month 2007
sitting in the hot swells of humidity in a random apartment, i have been told it is one in ten thousand. Although looking at the matrix type structures of the residential blocks on the island i can only imagine a greater number. The latin inspired, cuban instrumental, parisian ex-pat living in tokyo mix slurs on in the background. The small laptop speakers are drowned out by the small air-con unit trying trying trying to extract moisture and cool the living room. Previous legacies of companionship are still with me, lodged in my chest. But the more i explore the sprawl the more i am imbued with a sense of hope.
boards of canada pipe in through black silicon buds, the sun hitting my face, glinting of my screen, before brushing the hair away from my tired eyes. I close my weary receptors enjoy the pre conditioned air and think of the adventure that awaits.
squeezed fruit will quench my thirst, cool showers and citrus cleansers will fix my skin. lets hope that other european narcotic Christianity hasn’t simply thrown his things into my room. i might just leave the door open and pee standing up in protest.
